Lamyatt Beacon is at the site of a Celtic temple high on one of the tops of Creech Hill.  This is the highest spot for miles and has commanding views of the countryside.

This morning a deep red sun rose over the town of Bruton that sits in the valley below.

In the dark I stood next to a hedge and was unseen by passing deer and fly-by pheasants.  I was waiting, and hoping, for the sky to put on an autumn show.

Looking towards Kings Alfred’s Towers in Brewham the sky was bright red.
