White Wedding

Inspired on the morning of Royal Wedding day I photographed these white British Bluebells at Longwood in Somerset. Most white bluebells are Spanish or Portuguese Bluebells (aka. Portuguese Bluebells of War – after the jellyfish of a similar name!). After a few minutes using Google it appears that white British bluebells are much rarer. On such a windy day I used a flash in an attempt to freeze the movement while waiting for the occasional moments when the wind dropped. I did not want to stray from the footpath to take the picture – so every few minutes I had to move my tripod and let walkers and their dogs go past. As a photographer you need to balance the desire for that perfect viewpoint against damaging the scene for others.
