Early Purple Orchids
The last couple of posts have focused on the Wild Garlic displays at Longwood and Round Wood in Somerset. Both these sites also put on an excellent display of Early Purple Orchids (Orchis macula). At Longwood the Orchid Slope just outside the woodland gate is covered in Early Purple Orchids. While at Round Wood the area around Arthur’s Point is also putting on a great display.
